National United States provides several opportunities for our national contestants to shine in a variety of optional competitions for both on-stage and off-stage, and recognize them for their outstanding achievements.
Options have an additional fee to enter and more information is included in the National Contestant Handbook.
TOP MODEL
Available to all divisions.
Our Top Model Competition is a great way to build your portfolio and have a photo shoot with our National Photographer - Catherine Fiehn Photography.
Fee: $125. Limit 1 entry.
CASUAL WEAR
Available to all divisions.
Choose an outfit that shows off your personality and sense of style in this upbeat on-stage modeling competition. No cocktail dresses. Outfits should be off the rack.
Fee: $75 per entry. Limit 2 entries.
SPOKESMODEL
Available to all divisions.
Contestants will deliver a 60 to 90 second speech about a cause, their personal platform, or subject that is important to them.
Fee: $75. Limit 1 entry.
ACTRESS
Available to all divisions.
Contestants will deliver a 30 second commercial/promotion about a product, business, or item of their choice that is appropriate to their age. Contestants will wear their pageant t-shirt and shorts.
Fee: $75. Limit 1 entry.
RED, WHITE, & BLUE WEAR
Available to all divisions.
Red, white, and blue outfit of your choice that shows your personality in this fun upbeat on-stage modeling competition. RWB outfit can be as fancy as you like - cocktail, romper, hi-low or can be more casual, the choice is yours. No swimsuits or props are allowed.
Fee: $75. Limit 1 entry.
ACTIVEWEAR
Available to all divisions.
Your choice of age-appropriate workout activewear outfit to model is this upbeat on-stage modeling competition. Suggested items for activewear outfits are leggings, biker shorts, capris, athletic shorts, sports bra/tanks, t-shirts, etc. with sneakers or athletic shoes. No bra tops or swimsuits allowed.
Fee: $75. Limit 1 entry.
PHOTOGENIC
Available to all divisions.
Submit a color or black & white photo - can be headshot, closeup, full body
Fee: $75 per photo entry. Limit 2 photo entries.
CROWN PHOTOGENIC
Available to all divisions.
Submit a color or black & white photo including your National United States state crown and sash or sash.
Fee: $75 per photo entry. Limit 2 photo entries.
PORTFOLIO
Available to all divisions.
Receive the Portfolio Award when you enter 2 Photogenic photo entries and 2 Crown Photogenic photo entries.
PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT
Available to Miss, Ms., & Mrs. divisions.
Submit your most recent professional resume and accomplishments.
Entry Fee: $75. Limit 1 entry.
NUS HONOR SOCIETY - Academic Achievement
Available to all divisions.
The NUS Honor Society is to recognize our outstanding academic achievers in all divisions and induct them into our NUS Honor Society. Each contestant with a GPA of 3.5 (93% or A average) or higher for the 2023-2024 school academic year will be recognized with NUS Academic Honors, Honor Cords, and Award.
For the Miss, Ms., & Mrs. divisions you must be or have been enrolled taking classes at a higher education institution during the 2023-2024 academic year.
Entry Fee: $75. Limit 1 entry.
STEM AWARD
Available to all divisions.
Show off your talents and projects for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math with our STEM Award. Record and submit a 60-90 second video about the importance of STEM, your talents, and projects you are working on to make a difference.
Entry Fee: $75. Limit 1 entry.
ALL STAR ATHLETE AWARD
Available to all divisions.
Recognizing the achievement of our national contestants that are actively involved in sports, dance, cheerleading, baton, etc.
Submit an electronic scrapbook of photos demonstrating your involvement in sports.
