I am Olivia Allison your Miss Collegiate United States 2022. I am currently a sophomore attending Butler University in Indianapolis Indiana, majoring in Arts Administration with a double minor in Business-law, and strategic communications. At school I am an usher for our college of the arts events, a tour guide for the university, involved in Greek life as a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and honored to be a new member in our university’s honors program. My personal platform is entitled Behind Bars: Supporting Children of the Incarcerated. At the age of four my father left my family due to drug addiction and mental illness, and ever since I overcame one of the biggest hardships in my life, I knew I wanted to make it my mission to educate, inspire, and seek policy changes for those facing similar hardships. During this year I am hoping to use my title to connect with lawmakers to pass legislation in hopes of creating child friendly rooms in prisons for those young kids wanting some connection with their parents. As well as go into schools in my hometown of Pittsburgh as well as Indianapolis to promote the national platform Crown CARES. Creating a Respectful environment in schools-society has always been important to me since many times growing up I was nervous to go into school because I felt like I would be made fun of for only living with my mom, and I never want anyone to feel the way I did. This is one of the many reasons I fell in love with the National United States Pageant along with the amazing friendships and opportunities this system comes with. This system provides young women with the opportunity to serve their nation and gain public speaking and confidence skills that allow for these girls to bring out the best in themselves. I am super grateful for the opportunity to represent our nation this year and I cannot wait to serve and make a difference each and every day.
